Project Directive

Jurox first approached SEE to conduct a detailed feasibility analysis and provide expert recommendations on the optimal solar system sizing for their production facility.

SEE's thorough assessment outlined how much solar capacity the facility could accommodate and the potential reductions in grid dependence.

Following the successful completion of this assessment SEE was appointed as the solar installer for this project.

Beyond achieving operational efficiencies, Jurox was committed to enhancing their sustainability efforts, recognising the environmental and long-term benefits of incorporating renewable energy into their operations.

This project marked a significant step in aligning their production processes with their broader commitment to sustainability.

Approach

SEE recommended and installed an 800kW solar system split across two separate switchboards, maximising the efficiency of the used roof space.

While the roof could accommodate a larger system, the installed size was carefully determined through detailed solar modelling, taking into account the site's energy usage patterns and existing electrical infrastructure.

The System is designed to significantly reduce Jurox's reliance on grid energy, cutting energy consumption significantly.

Over its lifetime, the system is expected to offset more than 12,000 tonnes of CO2 - equivalent to planting and growing 70,000 trees to maturity.

By tailoring the solution to the site's specific needs, SEE ensured long-term financial savings, environmental benefits, and a sustainable energy future for Jurox.

Execution

The installation presented several challenges that required careful planning and collaboration to overcome.

The large site meant that the solar panels were not always located near the AC connection points, necessitating detailed site visits and thorough investigations to determine optimal inverter locations, minimising cost and efficiency losses.

Additionally the site's aging electrical infrastructure limited connection options.

To address this, SEE's onsite team worked closely with our engineers to develop the best design and added new electrical assets to enable a seamless connection.

Finally, the project had a fast-tracked timeline to align with the client's operational goals.

SEE coordinated closely with all stakeholders to maintain clear communication and ensure the project was completed efficiently and successfully.
